Bioethicist, Psychiatrist, Teacher Named Master’s Ceremony Keynote Speaker
Rebecca Weintraub Brendel is an associate professor of psychiatry at HMS and Massachusetts General Hospital and associate director of the HMS Center for Bioethics. Her research interests focus on issues in psychiatry, medicine, law, ethics, and human rights.
A clinical psychiatrist, Brendel practices forensic psychiatry and provides medical oversight for the inpatient guardianship team at Mass General, where she is also director of law and ethics at the Center for Law, Brain, and Behavior. Brendel is president of the American Psychiatric Association.
