- The Harvard-MIT MD-PhD program is one of the premier training grounds for physician-scientists in the world. Having celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2024, the program offers potential areas of graduate study that span both universities and include basic and translational biomedical sciences and engineering, health-related social sciences, and medical humanities.
- The MD-MBA program, now more than 20 years old, offers students the resources of both HMS and Harvard Business School in an educational program aimed at the next generation of physician leaders in health care finance, administration, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Students progress through a coordinated five-year curriculum that brings together the professional disciplines of medicine and management.
- The MD-MPH program, which allows for study at HMS and the Harvard Chan School of Public Health, is designed for future physicians with career interests in public health, epidemiology, global health, and preventive medicine.
- The MD-MPP program, offered in coordination with the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, educates students who envision a career helping to set policy or administer programs involving issues of public concern, such as in governmental agencies, international organizations, and nonprofit institutions.
- Multiple dual-degree opportunities exist for students who wish to obtain both an MD and a master’s degree from HMS. Master’s programs have various requirements and include those in:
