HMS Match Day takes place in March every year on campus where MD students celebrate where they will do their residency with their classmates, family, friends, faculty, and staff.
Match Day is an annual nationwide event coordinated by the National Resident Matching Program at which students learn which residency program they will be attending.
Match Day 2026 happens Friday, March 20, 2026.

Of the 166 graduating MD students at HMS in 2025:
155 matched to clinical training, internship or residency programs at hospitals
3 matched in oral and maxillofacial surgery
8 are pursuing non-clinical positions
84 students (55%) matched at an HMS-affiliated program for some part of their training
