HMS students gathered on Nov. 9 to hear a diverse panel of HMS faculty members at “Minority Physicians in the Community: Training and Practicing Medicine in Boston.” Students also had the chance to network with CEOs and CEO representatives from Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Children’s Hospital Boston, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital.

One of these leaders, Nora Osman, associate director of the Office of Multicultural Faculty Careers at BWH, encouraged students to take advantage of the resources in the room and throughout the HMS system. “Many of us who come here, stay here. We’re delighted to see you, we’re here for you, we support you. Our doors are always open,” she said.
The event highlighted the distinguished work of Rhonda Bentley-Lewis, an endocrinologist at MGH, who was honored with the Excellence in Mentoring Award, which was presented to her by two of her students and Peter Slavin, president of MGH.
