Mice, the most commonly used laboratory animals in medical research, may be poor models for studying trauma or infections in humans, scientists found. H. Shaw Warren, HMS associate professor of pediatrics at Massachusetts General Hospital; Ronald Tompkins, the Sumner M. Redstone Professor of Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital; and Wenzhong Xiao, HMS lecturer on surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital, were authors of the study.
