Study authors: On medical school conflict of interest policies, more enforcement needed

Many schools have adopted policies restricting drug salespeople from working on campus and requiring professors to avoid or at least disclose their ties to industry. But even at institutions with the strictest rules, many doctors-to-be are exposed to pharmaceutical marketingthroughout their training, according to a new study. Aaron Kesselheim, HMS assistant professor of medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital, is the senior author. Kirsten Austad, a fourth-year HMS student, is the lead author.
