The Harvard Medical School 2019 Program Award for Culture of Excellence in Mentoring recipients were recognized at a Faculty Council meeting on Dec. 5, 2019.

The award was established to recognize the efforts of a department, division, office or program that fosters innovation and sustainability in mentoring while building a culture of mentoring.

At the awards ceremony, HMS Dean George Q. Daley recognized the efforts of individuals who are leaders of programs that provide training and support for outstanding mentors. New junior faculty are now required to have an assigned career advisor/mentor at the time of their appointment or re-appointment.

Joan Reede, HMS dean for diversity and community partnership, presented a short video of the programs before the recipients received their plaques.
