Dear Members of the HMS and HSDM Community:
At the end of this difficult year for HMS and the University, I am writing to send my best wishes for a restorative, festive holiday season.
In these transitional weeks between this year and next — in the darkness of winter — it can be challenging to imagine that sunlight will indeed return; but I note that after the winter solstice, each day gets longer, bringing us more daylight hours and the promise of a spring revival. I invite you to click below for a brief holiday message that reflects this idea.
However you spend your winter recess, I hope you enjoy the rest of 2025. For those who continue to support our campus during the break, thank you for your hard work and dedication to our mission.
Harvard Medical School is a strong, distinguished institution because of its people — because of each of you. I am looking toward the new year with confidence, a sense of possibility, and luminous hope. Thank you for bringing your best self to this community — HMS shines brighter thanks to you.
Sincerely,
George Q. Daley
Dean of the Faculty of Medicine
