Dr. Martin studied philosophy of science and the history of medicine before training in clinical medicine at University College and the Royal London Hospitals in London. He underwent postgraduate training in cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Lahey Clinic. His clinical practice of cardiac electrophysiology is focused on a holistic approach to patient-centric management across the broad range of cardiac arrhythmias.

Dr. Martin has a long history of working in Bolivia with patients suffering from Chagas’ disease and has a particular interest in this condition.

Dr. Martin’s research interests have been concentrated on device-based therapies of arrhythmia, including the use of implanted devices to study the relationship between atrial fibrillation and stroke.
