What’s something you’ve learned about yourself during your time at HMS?
During a training course for managers at Harvard a few years ago, I learned that I was introverted, which was quite a revelation for me. I'm still an introvert, but I have, and still am, learning how to be more outgoing and talk about things other than the weather.
What was the path to your current role?
I started at HMS in 1996 as a client services representative in the Information Technology department. Since then, I became a team lead, left HMS in 2005 for a short while, came back as a client services rep, and, finally, became an IT manager for a team that develops new tools for managing computers and keeping campus systems secure.
What experience has shaped your time at HMS?
The people of HMS have shaped my time here. Over 27 years, they’ve become good friends (and commuting buddies). They’ve helped me become less introverted and more knowledgeable; they’ve helped me realize I’ve made an impact on the lives of those in the community and, indirectly through my work here, on the lives of those around the world.
