What activities or experiences, outside of your job, inform who you are in your role at HMS?
I run a palliative care program at a retirement village. As part of that program, I have the honor of playing music at the bedsides of people at the end of life, which I've been doing for 30 years. Being with people who are on the precipice of mystery has inspired me to explore my own beliefs about an afterlife.
What's your favorite spot or sight on the HMS campus?
The view of the Quad and Boston from the steps of Gordon Hall. At the end of each workday as I leave campus, I always stop, take a breath, and look out at the view, feeling part of this remarkable place.
