The Nancy Lurie Marks Family Foundation is seeking applicants for the 2014 Summer Scholars in Medicine Fellowship.

The goal of the fellowship is to support Harvard Medical School students who have an interest in pursuing autism-related research at HMS or one of its affiliated hospitals for a summer research project from June through August.

Summer Scholars may apply to extend their research experience for one year after their summer project.

The fellowship stipend is $5,000 for the three-month period, and includes an additional $2,000 research support award.

Applicants should submit, in a single PDF file, a cover letter with the student’s contact information, a CV, a 250-word abstract, and a three-page proposal describing background, proposed research, and experimental design. References may be listed on a separate page.

In addition, the applicant should arrange for the HMS mentor who has agreed to allow the applicant to work in their lab to send a recommendation letter directly to the email address below.

The deadline for receipt of applications is Friday, February 14, 2014. Awards will be announced in early March.

Please email all application materials and any questions to Janine Zieg at NLM_fellowships@hms.harvard.edu.
