New thinking about treating cancer

It has been more than 40 years since President Richard Nixon signed the National Cancer Act. The law was designed to bolster efforts to find cures for cancer. Some recent advances in research have led a number of doctors to call for a rethinking of our entire approach to cancer. Jerome Groopman, the Dina and Raphael Recanati Professor of Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, was a guest on the show.
