The Nancy Lurie Marks Family Foundation seeks applicants for the 2013 Summer Scholars in Medicine Fellowship. The goal of the fellowship is to support Harvard Medical School students who have an interest in pursuing autism-related research at HMS or one of its affiliated hospitals for a summer research project from June through August. Summer Scholars are eligible to apply to extend their research experience for one year after their summer project.
The fellowship stipend is $5,000 for the three-month period, plus a $2,000 research support award.
Applicants should submit, in a single PDF file, a cover letter with student contact information, a CV, a 250-word abstract, and a three-page proposal describing the background, proposed research project, and experimental design. References can be sent on a separate page, and should include a letter of reference from the HMS faculty member who has agreed to mentor the student.
The deadline for receipt of applications is Friday, November 2, 2012. Awards will be announced in early December.
