The HMS Integrity in Academic Medicine website offers valuable resources to help faculty members explore and address issues governing relationships between academic institutions and industry. The site also provides a comprehensive look at the conflicts-of-interest (COI) policy recommendations recently accepted by Dean Jeffrey Flier from the Faculty of Medicine’s Committee on Conflicts of Interest and Commitment.
Dean’s Corner, Policy Details and FAQ. The Dean’s Corner includes an article offering Dean Flier’s perspective on the new policy recommendations as well as a white paper that explores COI issues. Also included are the existing policy in its entirety, the COI committee’s recommendations for revision and detailed answers to frequently asked questions.
Oversight. The site provides an overview of the HMS Office for Professional Standards and Integrity, which bears responsibility for implementing policies concerning COI, research integrity and scientific misconduct.
