Edwin Salzman, HMS professor of surgery emeritus at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, passed away on October 3rd. Salzman, a vascular surgeon, helped pioneer using aspirin to lower the risk of blood clots from forming in the leg veins of surgery patients.
