MEDscience Reunion Program

Are you interested in enrolling a high school-aged family member in a hands-on medical education experience while you attend your Reunion?

Students enrolled in grades 10 through 12 during the 2017-2018 academic year

May 31 – June 1
8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

  • Perform hands-on medical procedures with simulation trainers and equipment
  • Train in a medical skills clinic (e.g. inserting a patient’s breathing tube, starting an intravenous line, suturing)
  • Improve critical thinking and teamwork skills while solving realistic medical problems
  • Participate in interactive lectures on two body systems (geared for multiple learning styles)
  • Engage in a simulated medical emergency as a health care team member
  • Hear directly from health professionals

Program cost is $500, which also includes

  • Breakfast and lunch each day
  • An HMS embroidered tote bag
  • Scrubs (Available for purchase for $30)
  • Stethoscope
  • Copies of “Complications: A Surgeons Notes on an Imperfect Science” by Atul Gawande, MD ’94, MPH ’99
  • Certificate of completion signed by Dean Nancy Oriol, MD ’79, and the executive director of the HMS MEDscience Program
