How do I get to Mini-Med School classes?

All classes are held at:
Harvard Medical School
The Joseph B. Martin Conference Center
The New Research Building

From the “E” Green line train:

  • Take the "E" green line train to Longwood Medical Area. This stop is at the intersection of Huntington and Longwood Avenues.
  • Follow Longwood Ave. toward Children's Hospital (look for signs).
  • Two blocks down, you'll find the HMS quad on your left and Avenue Louis Pasteur on your right. The Joseph B. Martin Conference center is inside the New Research Building (NRB), the glass building across the street from Boston Latin School.

From the “D” Green line train:

  • Take the "D" green line train to the Longwood Avenue stop.
  • Follow the signs toward Children's Hospital.
  • After you pass the hospital, Avenue Louis Pasteur will be on your left.
  • The event takes place inside the glass building across from Boston Latin School.

By bus:

The following buses stop at or near the New Research Building (NRB): #38, #38A, #39, #47, #60, #65, #CT2, #CT3.

Does it cost anything to attend the seminars?

Admission to all of the seminars is free.

Do I need to have taken any classes before attending the seminars?

The seminars are intended for the general public. No prior scientific knowledge is expected. Past participants have included people of all educational levels, backgrounds and ages.

What time should I arrive?

We suggest you arrive by 5:30 on the evening of the seminar so that you have time to check in.

What should I bring with me?

Please bring an ID with you. Even if you are registered, you still need to check in at the welcome table so that we have a record that you attended.

You may also want to bring a notepad and pen to take notes during the lecture.

I am on the waiting list for a seminar. How do I know if I've been accepted?

We will call or e-mail you if room has opened up in the seminar. If you suspect you may have missed a call or message, feel free to check back on the day of the event. Be sure to do so before 2pm as the phone line may not be monitored after that time.

I am not registered for the event. Can I still attend?

Registration is required, but walk-ins are often accepted. However, walk-ins ARE NOT guaranteed admittance or seats. Our policy is that unclaimed seats are forfeited five minutes before the program starts. At that time, we allow walk-ins to enter the auditorium IF there is still space available.

Is there food available at the Joseph B. Martin Conference Center?

No food is sold or provided by the event organizers. However, Elements Cafe is open prior to the event, just upstairs from the amphitheater in the New Research Building. There are also a number of cafes and restaurants on Longwood Ave. toward Brookline Ave.

Are the seminars available through a live webcast?

Yes, the seminars will be streamed live online. We will post the link closer to the event date. Please note, you will need a standard cable modem to view the stream. The stream will begin a few minutes prior to the start of each session.

Are the seminar videos posted online?

We record each seminar and post them online for you to watch at your convenience. Please see our video archive for videos of past seminars.

How do I claim my PDPs or CEUs?

PDP/CEU assessment forms are available at the check-in desk at each event. You can return those forms, completed, at any subsequent seminar, or you can mail them to the address listed on the form. PDP and CEU certificates will be mailed to your preferred address in mid-May.

What certification does the Certificate of Completion provide?

The certificate only states that you participated in the seminars. It does not provide certification in any medical, scientific or educational field.

Can I receive a certificate if I watch the seminar videos once they are posted online or if I watch the live streaming?

Certificates are only provided to those who attend in person. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Can I bring a friend or family member with me to the seminars?

Absolutely, but we strongly recommend that each person register for the seminars. Walk-ins ARE NOT guaranteed admittance or seats.
