The application process will begin in September 2020 for the cohort beginning in late August 2021 and the application and accompanying materials will be due on May 1, 2021

All supporting application materials must be submitted through the online application system.

Applicants should be prepared to upload the following documentation: 

1. Curriculum Vitae

2. Letter of Intent (no more three pages in length, describing interest in the program, qualifications and area of research interest)

3. Transcript(s) (these may be official or unofficial)

4. TOEFL/IELTS/Duolingo Score (only if applicable or requested by admissions committee)*

*The MMSc-Med Ed Program requires official TOEFL scores from any applicant whose native language is not English. The only exemption from this requirement is anyone who earned a bachelor's or graduate degree from an institution at which English was the sole language of instruction. Applicants who took the TOEFL more than three years ago must repeat the test. The program prefers applicants to submit scores from the Internet based test (IBT) of the TOEFL. Please request official TOEFL scores using the Designated Institution Code: 3151. The program will accept IELTS scores in lieu of the TOEFL when necessary.

For Fall 2021 Admissions, the Harvard Medical School Master’s Programs will now accept the Duolingo English Test, in addition to TOEFL and IELTS, for applicants for whom English was not the language of instruction for their undergraduate or graduate degree. Admissions decisions are contingent on a minimum score of 125 on the Duolingo test and satisfactory programmatic review of the writing and video samples provided by Duolingo.   

In addition to completing the online application, the program requires three letters of recommendation. Applicants must provide the e-mail addresses of three recommenders in the application system. These recommenders will receive instructions to upload the letter of recommendation and we require recommenders to submit their letters through our online system.

All applicants to HMS Master's Programs are required to pay a $100 application fee.

Please note that applications will not be reviewed until the program has all of the documentation mentioned above along with three letters of recommendation.
