This program is designed for clinicians working in clinical research at the faculty level (or equivalent). Candidates holding an MD, PhD, MBBS, DMD, DDS, PharmD, DNP, or an equivalent degree are eligible to apply.  The review committee will consider candidates with a Master’s degree for admission on a case by case basis.

GCSRT is truly a Global program: the previous cohort of students represented 44 countries from 7 Global Regions.  Past student participants included Chief Physicians, Directors, Fellows, Scientists, and Specialists. Most students have authored or contributed to research publications.  Clinicians, Residents, and Lecturers who demonstrated strong career interest in clinical research on their application materials were also admitted to the program.

Applications are now closed.

Harvard Medical School Global and Continuing Education Programs admit students on a rolling admissions process - applications are reviewed as they are received.  Therefore, in order to increase the likelihood of admission to the program, it is recommended that students submit their application materials as early as possible.

Students can expect to hear a decision on their application within four to six weeks from the date all application materials were submitted.

The admissions committee reviews applications in the order they are submitted. Strong applicants will be mid-career clinical professionals who have authored or contributed to peer-reviewed research publications. However, applicants able to demonstrate a strong career interest in clinical research via their employment or professional interests will also be given full consideration.

The application process asks applicants to input identifying information into a form and upload documents for review. To prepare to submit your application for the GCSRT program, please have the following available to upload to Cvent:

Updated contact information and credentials: This information is required for the online application

Curriculum Vitae/Resume/List of awards or publications: Applicants are prompted to either upload their CV or resume (.doc, .pdf) or type their professional history into the application.

A 100 word Personal Statement explaining why you would like to be considered for the GCSRT program. Your statement should include a brief description of your background, your area of professional interest, how this course will impact your career as well as the institution and country where you work.

A letter of recommendation from a department/division head/director/chair or supervisor: The letter should address your suitability for the program and support your attendance at the workshops.

Many applicants find the process easier to complete on a desktop or laptop computer due to the length of required personal statements and the required document upload.

There are three important application deadlines for the GCSRT program: early admissions, early admissions deposit deadline, final application deadline.  Students who are accepted to the program prior to the early admission deadline and submit a deposit for the program by the early admissions deposit deadline are eligible for the reduced tuition rate.
