About Us

The Department of Continuing Education (DCE) of Harvard Medical School (HMS) is the administrative unit responsible for all Continuing Medical Education (CME) activities that are conducted under the aegis of Harvard Medical School. HMS is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Day-to-day oversight for the program is provided by Associate Dean for Continuing Education Ajay K. Singh, MBBS, FRCP (UK), MBA, and Executive Director Mary Lou Townsend, M.Ed. The Dean for External Education, David H. Roberts, M.D., has responsibility for oversight of this unit, along with other external educational programming offered through HMS. At the school level, oversight of all educational programs rests with the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, George Q. Daley, MD.
