1.    Is this a part-time program that I can take when I want in my spare time? 
2.    Can you give me more information on how the webinars will be scheduled, specifically at what times?

1. Is this a part-time program that I can take when I want in my spare time?  
The workshops are scheduled for specific days during the year and the modules will be available online 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

2. Can you give me more information on how the webinars will be scheduled, specifically at what times? 
The webinars will be scheduled for various time zones and will generally be scheduled in the evening.

3. Is attendance required at workshops other than the workshops in London and Boston?
Attendance at workshops are mandatory. Written petition to the Education Committee must be approved for any absences.

4. What does the cost of tuition include?
Tuition covers the cost of the program only. It does not include cost for travel, lodging and meals. The estimated cost for these is from $3,000 to $5,000 USD. Books are also not included.

5. What is the financial commitment expected from participants?
Apply by June 1, 2017 ($13,900 USD). Apply by August 1, 2017 ($14,900 USD).  The total financial commitment will depend on where you will be traveling from, your mode of travel and type of accommodation.

6. What is the payment procedure? Can I pay in installments?
A completed application, with supporting documents, must be submitted first. Once your application is accepted, payment will be required in full. On an exceptional basis, we may consider payment in installments. A request for installment payments must be made in writing to the program director.

7. Will there be a possibility of refund?
Once you are accepted in the program and after your payment is made, no refund is permitted unless the program is canceled.

8. When will I be notified of acceptance?
Early applications will be reviewed starting June 1, 2017. Regular applications will be reviewed starting August 1, 2017. You will be notified regarding your application 3-4 weeks of application deadlines.

9. How many students are expected to enroll?
Full enrollment is expected to be 100 students.

10. Who will issue the Certificate of Completion?
The certificate will be from Harvard Medical School and will be provided to participants in good standing who have completed all the requirements of the program.

11. Could successful completion of this program be converted to credits that could be applied to a degree program?
This program does not provide academic credits.

12. Are there any scholarships for this program?
The Qatar Biomedical Research Institute will sponsor in full 35 qualified participants from the Gulf Cooperation Council and Middle East North Africa regions. The deadline for applying for this scholarship is June 1, 2017. We also have a limited tuition reduction program in place.

13. Can this program be completed without having to come to Harvard Medical School for one year?
You do not need to come to Harvard Medical School for a year.  The program is presented in a blended-learning format with both online and face-to-face workshop components. Workshops are held in London and Boston. Both the online and face-to-face workshops are mandatory components of the program.

14. Do I have to be a resident of the USA to participate? 
No, you do not need to be a resident or citizen of the USA.  

15. Does the CBT program provide visa assistance?
Not directly. However, we will provide a letter of invitation should one be requested or required for visa application purposes.

16.  What employment opportunities are available after completing this program?
As an educational program only, there are no associated opportunities for employment.

17. Is this an online-only program or does one need to travel to the USA?
This is a blended-learning program. Online lectures will be available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.  There are three residential workshops.

18. What if I don't have internet access?
We strongly urge you to have a reliable internet connection in place.

19. Will a translator be available if I do not speak English?
There will be no translators. The program is in English and fluency in English is required to participate.

20. When will the program begin?
The 2017-2018 HMS CBT program begins October 23, 2017 in Boston, MA.

21. Upon being accepted to the program, should I purchase airline tickets and make travel arrangements?
No. Please do not purchase non-refundable airline ticket(s) until you have received an email from our office confirming your paid registration AND confirmation that the program will be held.

22. What is the time commitment for the program?
On average, the time commitment is approximately 7 to 10 hours each week.

23. What if I don't attend all or even some of the workshops?
Attendance at the workshops is required for this program. If a participant cannot attend a workshop, a petition must be submitted to the CBT Education Committee for review and approval.  Please also note that in order to obtain the certificate you also need to attend a minimum of 75% of the webinars and submit and obtain a pass grade for all of your homework assignments.

24. For how long will I be able to view the recorded videos after the program is concluded?
The recorded videos will remain in place for one year after the completion of the program.

25. Does the program offer discounts if candidates apply as a group?
We do not offer any discounts to the program. We receive and welcome multiple students in any one year from the same institution.
