Building C and Seeley G. Mudd remain closed. Electrical panel and device inspections must be completed by Boston Inspectional Services and the Boston Electrical Department before reoccupancy can be granted and the buildings can be safely reopened.
We will share updates as they become available. In the meantime, Campus Planning and Facilities staff remain in close communication with leaders of impacted labs and spaces. Preventing loss of research remains a top priority.
Since the Jan. 26 incident that caused extensive flooding from a frozen and burst pipe, responding teams have made significant progress in cleanup efforts. Floors and ceilings are now largely dry, with immediate moisture mitigation efforts nearing completion.
Individuals impacted by the Building C and Seeley G. Mudd closures who need alternate work or meeting space on campus should continue to check availability and request space through the HMS room scheduling web app and the Countway Library.
Thank you to HMS custodial staff and all supporting teams for their tireless cleanup efforts, and to the community for its continued patience as this work continues.
