The confocal microscope is overseen by the Department of Cell Biology at Harvard Medical School. For information on access, training, and usage, please contact Jamin DeProto at the e-mail address listed above. |
Equipment available: The Zeiss LSM410 is a true point scanning confocal microscope with laser lines in the "blue" (350, 364 nm), "green" (488 nm), "red" (543 nm), "near red" (568 nm), and "far red" (647 nm) spectrum with up to three channels of simultaneous fluorescence detection and one transmitted light detector (for brightfield, phase, or DIC contrast). The confocal is configured on a Zeiss Axiovert 135TV with motorized stage. The Zeiss LSM410 software allows for time lapse, z sectioning, 3-D reconstructions, and more. This instrument is available to the medical school research community on a case by case basis. |
