Students Get Fit With 'Flash Workout'
July 17, 2012

The annual “Reflection in Action” (RIA) celebration was held at the Joseph B. Martin Conference Center at HMS on Thursday, May 31. The event included a full day of educational activities and demonstrations related to fitness and nutrition for local middle-school students. The day concluded with a throng of students dancing to the steps of the “flash workout” program of the national “Let’s Move!” campaign developed by first lady Michelle Obama.
RIA is one of several educational outreach programs sponsored by the Office of Diversity, Inclusion & Community Partnership (DCP) at HMS. Designed for Boston and Cambridge middle-school students, this program aims to both expand knowledge about urban health issues and promote healthy lifestyle choices.
