New ID Cards
My new ID card looks different - is there a new design?
Yes, as of May 20, 2013, Harvard University has updated the ID card design. There will be a gradual transition to this new design as ID cards are issued, renewed or replaced as opposed to performing a wholesale “swap” of cards. Please note that the old style Harvard ID card is still valid and that the technology within the cards remains exactly the same – the change is purely visual.
Why is there no longer an end date on the new ID card?
The end date on the cards issued prior to May 20, 2013 has been eliminated to reduce the number of times an ID card needs to be reissued. If you have a card with a printed expiration date, and it is expiring, or one with an end date of October 2013, you do not need to wait until then to get your new ID card. You may go to one of the following locations to have your new ID card printed now or any time prior to the expiration date noted on the card.
Cambridge: Please go to the Campus Service Center (807 Holyoke Center). Business hours: Mon - Fri, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Longwood Medical Area: Please go to ID office located in the School of Public Health, Kresge Building, 677 Huntington Ave., Boston. Business hours: Mon - Fri, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
- Business School: Please go to the HBS Operations Center located at Shad Hall lower lever, (617) 495-6814. The HBS Operations Center has a messenger service between the HBS campus and the Campus Service Center and this office will process your card replacement from start to finish if you wish.
If you are a student - Contact the Campus Service Center at (617) 496-7827 or email@example.com. Please note that if you received your card after May 20, 2013, you have no graduation date printed on your card. Your card does not expire and you will not need a new ID card if your graduation date has been extended.
